OBJECTIVES
The VITECA project will be developing new transparent conducting layers for the manufacture of heated windscreens. The project will also involve research for the development of electrochromic (smart) windows. These windows enable the amount of light they let through to be regulated with the application of a small electric charge, turning them from clear at times of least sunlight and glare to opaque at times when they are greatest. Ariño Duglass is partnered with the Tekniker research and technology centre, which has long experience in sputtering techniques.
